Why do so many teachers leave the profession soon after they are qualified?

Is there a solution to the number of teachers who leave the profession early? Here I discuss what I see as the two main reasons for them leaving and offer some suggestions as to how they can be dealt with. I suggest that ultimately the reason is dissatisfaction, either personal or professional, with the current system.
