Schools can play key role in World Environment Day (June 5), expert says
The theme for this year’s World Environment Day is #BeatPlasticPollution, and a Monash University expert is encouraging schools to get involved in tackling this global issue to help students understand the importance of keeping plastic out of our oceans.
Educational research has shown that whole school approaches that involve students, teachers, and school leaders in meaningful and sustained action can be more effective in promoting sustainability and reducing plastic waste than approaches favouring occasional inputs on hot topics.
