A new paper is seeking to energise debate around the science of maths teaching in Australia.

Seven key ‘myths’ are highlighted in the paper, ranging from a misguided emphasis on inquiry learning, to a belief in the power of ‘growth mindset’ interventions, to the idea that timed assessments cause students anxiety.
