How teachers' body language can supercharge maths learning

Teachers can help arrest Australia’s slide down the world’s maths rankings with simple changes in body language, according to researchers.

Marmolejo-Ramos said that gestures are more relevant in teaching maths than other subjects because they engage students’ sensorimotor skills, helping them to interpret numbers more effectively.

Australian secondary students are now ranked 29th out of 38 OECD countries in maths, down from 11th 20 years ago ...
