‘Gotcha journalism’: Australian media's deficit take on out-of-field-teaching

As a sometime out-of-field teacher of STEM, it irked me how the Australian media wrote and spoke about us.

The media tended to oversimply the OOFT phenomenon and reduce it to formulaic stories.

There was definitely a deficit discourse in the public eye, but was that just my hunch?
