Veritas Education is recruiting an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students within a Secondary SEMH school in the Kingston area. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Specialist Secondary SEMH provisionNurture‑led and trauma‑informed approachSmall class sizes with high levels of supportStrong focus on emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviourKey Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needsSupport emotional regulation and positive behaviour managementAssist students with engagement in learning and classroom activitiesWork closely with teachers, pastoral and SEN teamsBuild positive, consistent and trusting relationships with studentsSupport students during transitions and unstructured timesSkills & Experience Required
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviourCalm, patient and resilient approachStrong communication and relationship‑building skillsConfidence managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviourAbility to work effectively as part of a teamBackground in education, care, youth work or similar is highly desirableStrong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeingWhat Veritas Education Offers
