Veritas Education is currently recruiting for a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students within a Secondary SEMH School in the Croydon area. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference to young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Specialist Secondary SEMH provisionNurture‑led and trauma‑informed approachSmall class sizes with high staff‑to‑student ratiosStrong focus on emotional regulation, engagement and positive behaviourKey Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needsSupport emotional regulation and behaviour management strategiesAssist students to engage with learning and classroom routinesWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teamsBuild consistent, positive and trusting relationships with studentsSupport students during transitions and unstructured timesSkills & Experience Required
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviourCalm, patient and resilient approachConfident supporting and de‑escalating challenging behaviourStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a wider teamBackground in education, care, youth work or similar is highly desirableA strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeingWhat Veritas Education Offers
