'We need kids back on day one': NSW, Vic double down on school plan

NSW and Victoria have doubled down on reopening schools on their scheduled starting days, despite calls to delay Term 1 as COVID-19 infections surge.

"I want every child back at school day one Term 1 and we will be making sure that that is the case," Victorian acting health minister James Merlino said on Wednesday.
