When the chilling talons of COVID-19 first clawed and closed in on our lives last year, students were forced to retreat into an inner world of their own making like never before.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College student Irene Le’s drawing Mindset of an escapist made it into Top Arts 2021, a prestigious showcase at the National Gallery of Victoria, where 46 artworks by senior students from across the state examine ideas related to isolation, contemporary life, the environment and identity.
