New Ministry tool forecasts teacher supply and demand

A new teacher supply and demand model, released by the Ministry of Education today, has been described as “baffling”, “conservative” and “flawed” by the country’s main teacher unions.

Deputy Secretary for Early Learning and Student Achievement, Ellen MacGregor-Reid, described the new tool as a “key plank” in the Ministry’s workforce strategy.
