What will the year in education will be remembered for? It has been dominated by funding and the uncertainty generated by the political discussion around need, quantum and the federal state debate. The review into school funding offered so much hope for disadvantaged school communities; it had the potential to move funding away from sectorial demands and as yet the picture for 2014 remains very unclear.
