Free teaching degrees for Vic public school teachers

New scholarships will make studying to be a teacher free for many Victorian students from next year.

If paid out in full, the scholarships amount to $18,000 for a four-year undergraduate degree or $9000 for two years of postgraduate study.

The State Government today announced a new, $229.8 million package aimed at addressing the teacher shortage.
