Position Information

Lake Macquarie High School is a dynamic coeducational secondary school located on the shore of Lake Macquarie neighbouring culturally historic sites in the Booragul, Speers Point and Fennell bay areas. Our ethos is “Aspire, Embrace, Innovate”, whereby we ensure every child is inspired to do their best within an accepting school community with staff continually improving their practice through strategic professional learning. The current enrolment is 475 students (20% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 4% Pasifika) with an expected student enrolment exceeding 600 by 2029.

With a focus on high expectations and explicit teaching, staff collaborate with each other to design and embed the new curriculum across all KLA’s. Our effective Learning and Support processes ensure that every student is catered for with teaching and learning developed to meet their needs. The school has strong links with its partner Primary Schools through a highly effective transition program and growing number of cross-site activities and events, providing enrichment for students from Year 3 to Year 10.

Lake Macquarie High School is a High Potential Gifted Education (HPGE) partner school and has had significant upgrades delivered to the teaching facilities such as new TAS workshops, a Marine Ecology/Aquatic Technology lab and workshop, new commercial kitchen and recording studio. These facilities will be used to further bolster and enrich the Science and TAS curriculum and foster stronger community links, such as our partnerships with the Lake Macquarie Art Gallery “yapang”.
