NSW teachers walk off the job over staffing issues

Recent walkouts in New South Wales public schools have highlighted an ongoing teacher shortage in the state, with rural areas being hit particularly hard.

There are more students per teacher in New South Wales than in any other state or territory, and more than 1200 positions remain vacant.
