Concern as free healthy school lunch program faces uncertain future

Despite calls to expand Ka Ora, Ka Ako, New Zealand’s free healthy school lunch program, the Government has committed just $300 million to continue the scheme in its current capacity, until the end of 2024.

The program, which began in 2019, is available to 25 per cent of schools on an opt-in basis.
