John Edmondson High School, with an enrolment of approximately 1080 students, including 67% of students from a non-English speaking background and 31 Aboriginal students, is a dynamic Year 7 - 12 comprehensive co-educational high school. The school serves a community in South West Sydney in the Liverpool area that includes a wide range of families from diverse cultural and socio-economic groups living in suburban, as well as semi-rural environments. The school has an extensive curriculum and promotes academic, sporting and leadership development and achievement. Innovative features include extensive technological resources and numerous opportunities for student enrichment. Strong links with partner Primary Schools as well as external providers are being extended to further develop student opportunities for learning and success. Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach ITX - Technology Mandatory and FTY - Food Technology.

Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate engaging teaching and learning programs that cater for a diverse range of learners and support improved student outcomes.

Demonstrated capacity to create positive, inclusive and well managed learning environments, with a strong commitment to safe and effective workshop and kitchen practices.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to whole school initiatives and build positive relationships with students, families and the wider school community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
