About the Role

As the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES), you will be a key member of the School Leadership Team, leading inclusive education practices across the school. You will drive improved student outcomes in learning, engagement and wellbeing, particularly for students requiring substantial and extensive adjustments.

You will provide strong relational and instructional leadership to the Special Education team, while also influencing inclusive curriculum planning and pedagogical practices across all faculties.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Special Education Services will:

  • Lead the implementation of inclusive education practices aligned to departmental policies and school priorities
  • Contribute to the school's improvement agenda as an active member of the Leadership Team
  • Build staff capability in differentiated teaching and inclusive pedagogies
  • Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of individualised student supports and plans
  • Lead and manage the Special Education team to deliver high-quality, targeted support
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with parents, external agencies and community stakeholders
  • Effectively manage human, financial and physical resources to achieve strategic outcomes
