About Gordonvale State High School: 

Gordonvale State High School is located 23km south of Cairns at the base of the world's highest freestanding natural pyramid (922m) - Walshs Pyramid, (Bundadjarruga). Established at its present site in 1965, the school has developed a strong reputation for its provision of educational opportunities across academic, vocational, agricultural and sporting areas.

About the Role: 

  • Lead the implementation of inclusive education practices aligned to departmental policies and school priorities
  • Contribute to the school's improvement agenda as an active member of the Leadership Team
  • Build staff capability in differentiated teaching and inclusive pedagogies
  • Oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of individualised student supports and plans
  • Lead planning and case management for students with complex learning needs
  • Lead and manage the Support team to deliver high-quality, targeted support
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with parents, external agencies and community stakeholders
  • Effectively manage human, financial and physical resources to achieve strategic outcomes
