Your Opportunity
The Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) plays a key leadership role in advancing inclusive education practices and supporting improved outcomes for students with disability and diverse learning needs.
Working collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies, the HOSES leads the development, implementation and monitoring of quality teaching, learning and support programs to ensure all students can access and participate in education on the same basis as their peers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading individualised planning and case management processes.
- Supporting teachers to implement effective adjustments, differentiation and inclusive practices.
- Monitoring student achievement and wellbeing data to inform decision-making and targeted support.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, policy and departmental requirements.
- Building staff capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.
- Contributing as a member of the leadership team to whole-school improvement priorities.
