About the Role:
- As the Family Support Coordinator, you will work with classroom teachers, school support staff, Early Childhood Coordinators (where available) to establish safe, welcoming learning environments.
- Coordinators will assist the school team to support children and families successfully transition into school from early childhood services, facilitate access to learning or engagement support to help establish positive patterns of school attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning and link families to external government and non-government supports and services to reduce barriers to learning for students.
Travel is a part of this role. Based at Norville State School you will also provide support to primary schools in the surrounding areas, as follows:-
- Norville State School - 0.50FTE
- Kalkie State School - 0.20FTE
- Childers State School - 0.15FTE
- Bundaberg South State School - 0.15FTE
Responsibilities:
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, schools and community services.
- Connect families with health, wellbeing and community supports to improve student outcomes.
- Support successful transitions to school, positive attendance, behaviour and engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to respond to the needs of children and families.
- Coordinate multi-agency support and referrals, including access to specialist services where appropriate.
- Use data to monitor student outcomes and maintain accurate case records.
