About The Role:

The National Community Hubs Program supports culturally diverse families, particularly mothers with young children from birth to five years of age, to connect, share, and learn. By fostering collaboration and inclusion, the Community Hub plays a vital role in building a strong, connected school community and improving outcomes for students and families.

As Community Hub Leader, you will report directly to the Deputy Principal, your primary responsibility is establishing a welcoming and inclusive environment where parents, carers, and members of the community feel valued, supported, and empowered.

  • This role predominantly focuses on building trusting relationships with families, particularly those who may face disadvantages such as language differences, socio-economic challenges, or limited access to support services.
  • You will manage partnership agreements and facilitate a local community partnership group, developing and maintaining effective relationships with community members, service providers, funding agencies, local early years networks, Community Hubs Australia, and the school.
  • You will lead collaborative planning to respond to the needs of families.
  • You will be required to attend and participate in Hub Leader network meetings and learning and development workshops.
  • You will assist with administrative tasks including newsletters, brochures, activity schedules, documentation and data collection, and writing meeting agendas and minutes.
  • You will also manage a budget, grants, and the associated reporting.
  • You will work in collaboratively with school staff, children, families, and the local community. As a family liaison, you will assist families with enquiries; support parents and carers to participate in Hub, school, and community activities; and refer families to relevant information, programmes, and services as required.
  • A significant aspect of this role entails developing and coordinating programs, in partnership with external services, that support children and their families. These may include parenting workshops, early childhood programmes such as playgroup and pre-prep, training and education opportunities, and community programmes and working closely with our health hub within the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong partnerships with families, schools, community organisations and service providers.
  • Coordinate inclusive programs that support family wellbeing and successful school engagement.
  • Promote Hub activities and connect families with local services and supports.
  • Foster collaboration across community and government organisations.
  • Maintain community networks, prepare reports and support Hub administration.
