Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne. 

• Hume has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.

• With campuses already in Mickleham, Donnybrook and Kalkallo, the School has announced its acquisition of a 10-hectare parcel of land in Wollert for its fourth campus planned to open in 2033. This campus will comprise another two Primary schools and a Secondary school and when it reaches its capacity, will enrol over 2,500 students. In all, Hume Anglican Grammar will ultimately educate over 6,000 students.

About the role: 

The teacher role is ongoing (1.0 FTE), and the Position of Responsibility is a three-year fixed-term position commencing on Monday, 25 January 2027. There are three positions available: two based at our Donnybrook Campus and one based at our Freier Campus, with a Leadership Allowance at Level 3. The roles include a 0.35 time release. Coordinators responsible for six sets will have their time release increased to 0.4.

Hume Anglican Grammar acknowledges the critical role of school leaders in developing a wellbeing culture across the school community, which draws links between student wellbeing and improved learning outcomes.

The Year Level Coordinator ensures the pastoral needs of students within the year level are met, and the Homeroom teachers within their year level group deliver an evidence-based student wellbeing curriculum that aligns with the whole school strategic approach Prep to Year 12. With knowledge of contemporary student wellbeing practices, the Year Level Coordinator will create a supportive, safe, and inspiring environment, whilst promoting the School's vision, values, policies and procedures.

The Year Level Coordinator is recognised and respected by colleagues, parents and community members, as an exemplary teacher. They have demonstrated consistent and innovative student wellbeing practices and the ability to initiate and lead programs that focus on improving educational opportunities for all students. They are well respected in their ability to implement and oversee an innovative student wellbeing curriculum. They continue to seek ways to improve their own professional practice and to share their experience with colleagues. They are skilled in mentoring teachers, using targeted interventions that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others. They promote creative, innovative thinking and professional practice among colleagues.

Requirements of the Role: 

• Bachelor of Education degree or higher
• Postgraduate qualifications in educational management and leadership (desirable)
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to support students, lead staff and guide parents
• Demonstrated understanding of best practice in student wellbeing practices exhibiting the ability to nurture young people in a supportive and structured environment
• Highly proficient organisational skills, planning, and investigative thinking capabilities
• Leadership experience  
• Involvement in professional communities
• Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
