Veritas Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to work within a welcoming secondary school in Batley. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who can inspire students through engaging and creative lessons while supporting academic progress across Key Stages 3 and 4. Experience teaching Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential.

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress effectively.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Support students in developing literacy skills and confidence.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and achievement.

    • The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Has experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent curriculum knowledge.
  • Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Is committed to raising standards and improving outcomes.
  • Possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or is willing to obtain one.
