Veritas Education is pleased to be working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in the Bradford area to recruit an enthusiastic English Teacher for a full-time, long-term position commencing in September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher to join a thriving English department where creativity, academic achievement, and a love of literature are actively encouraged. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing effective feedback and support
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
  • The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Is passionate about raising attainment and inspiring a love of reading and writing
  • Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply
