Position Information
Cammeraygal High School is a dynamic, comprehensive, coeducational 7–12 dual-campus school, with the two campuses located at Pacific Highway and West Street, Crows Nest. The school is a cohesive, two-campus institution catering to all students from Years 7 to 12. It commenced in 2015 with an initial enrolment of up to 120 Year 7 students and has continued to enrol other cohorts each ensuing year. From 2021, Years 7, 8, and 9 cohorts are enrolled on the Pacific Highway site, while Years 10, 11, and 12 attend the West Street site, with an enrolment capacity of 920 students that was reached in 2025.
Cammeraygal High School has a highly engaged parent community that continues to support the school's initiatives, priorities, and innovative programs, which include high-quality pedagogical practices, creative and performing arts, STEM, and student leadership programs. General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated strategic and visible leadership with the capacity to lead and manage the implementation of differentiated, whole-school quality teaching and learning programs in a multi-campus school, including meeting the needs of Learning and Support and High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students
Demonstrated collegial leadership that supports the maintenance of a coherent whole-school culture by fostering effective and collaborative relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community across both the Middle School and Senior School campuses
Demonstrated ability to effectively and innovatively manage the complex administrative and curricular challenges associated with the operation of a multi-campus school
Demonstrated capacity to support students with complex learning and/or wellbeing needs.
Demonstrated capacity to lead and manage a middle school campus with consideration given to working flexibly as Deputy Principal, developing whole school cohesiveness.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
This is an above centrally identified permanent position established through school funds. The successful candidate’s continued appointment to this position will be subject to the continuity of funding, the ongoing requirement of the position and the educational needs of the school.
Should the funding or the requirement for the position cease, the teacher will receive nominated transfer status; please refer to the Staffing Procedure for the Teaching Service in NSW Schools for additional information.
