AITSL boss backs divisive NSW plan to put uni students in the classroom

Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) CEO Mark Grant has backed the New South Wales Government’s plan to bring student teachers into the classroom just six months into their studies.

AITSL CEO Mark Grant said that strong structures will be important to prevent student teachers from being overwhelmed.

The State Government hopes the initiative will help to address an increasingly severe teacher shortage.
