Position Information
Murray High School sits in the heart of Lavington, Albury, on the NSW/Victorian border, within the culturally rich Wiradjuri nation. The school draws from a diverse community, with 10% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and 20% coming from a non English speaking background.
Our welfare and student conduct practices are built on the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) and a developing understanding of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy. The school currently adopts practices in Blended Learning Vocabulary as the basis for literacy skill development.
Murray High School enjoys strong connections with the local community, including Charles Sturt and La Trobe Universities, and schools in our network are highly and mutually supportive. The school is well known for its staff collegiality across all sectors of teaching and non-teaching support personnel.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8), Textiles and Design/Textile Technology and Food Technology.
- Demonstrated capacity to safely manage practical student learning environments, equipment and resources while maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety.
- Demonstrated ability to develop students’ practical skills through engaging teaching and the effective management of practical projects and assessment tasks.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of a faculty team and contribute positively to whole-school initiatives and professional practice.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
