The Department of Education supports secondary students with disability, and their families, in their transition from school to post school destinations through a process of student centred planning. This involves close collaboration between students, families, schools, school services teams and a wide range of community based education, training and specialist service providers.
The Support Teacher Transition (STT) position is a specialist role that assists schools to support secondary students with personalised planning for transition.
In assisting students with disability, their families, teachers and school services staff, Support Teachers Transition may undertake a range of activities. This includes:
  • providing advice on curriculum options and subject selection
  • providing advice on vocational preparation and entry to HSC Vocational Education and Training (VET). 
  • providing information on pathways to further education, training, employment or community activities and participation.
  • assisting with exit planning to post school destinations which may include employment and further education, transport and mobility issues, recreation and leisure pursuits. This may involve liaison with a range of government and non government providers.
This position is based at Murray High School in Albury, which has an enrolment of 720 students. This position is itinerant and delivers support across nine schools in the Albury and surrounding areas.
