Position Information

Ambarvale High School is a comprehensive Years 7-12 school with an enrolment of 840 students, which includes 95 students in our Support Unit. Our school has 35% of students identify as coming from a non-English speaking background and 12.4% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Ambarvale High School is committed to preparing students for the 21st Century. Our school has many innovative programs which provide opportunities for students to engage in creative thinking, problem solving and student-based learning. Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, mental health and complex behavioural or social needs within a support class setting.

2. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate differentiated learning experiences to maximise engagement and learning growth.

3. Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with students, families, school staff and external agencies to create positive learning outcomes for students.

4. Demonstrated successful classroom management skills with flexible and adaptive strategies that create a postive learning environment, authentic relationships and enable each individual's success.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
