Position Information

Cecil Hills High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in a growth area of south–west Sydney. The student enrolment of 1350 students (Year 7 to Year 12) includes 85% of students from a non–English speaking background. The school has 1% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school proudly has an inclusive education unit consisting of seven classes. The main languages spoken at home are Vietnamese, Arabic and Serbian. The school is experiencing significant enrolment growth, and this is expected to continue into the future. The proposed Western Sydney Airport is in the school's drawing area and will provide significant employment and training links when constructed. The school is committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence and intellectual curiosity through effective teaching and strategic leadership. This is achieved by setting high expectations in a challenging, inclusive and supportive environment that nurtures the holistic development of all students. Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Music.

  2. Demonstrated ability to design and deliver differentiated, engaging Music programs in-line with the new syllabi, that meet the diverse learning needs of students.

  3. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.

  4. Ability to support and expand extra-curricular and co-curricular CAPA opportunities that cater to a wide variety of students  and enhance student engagement and wellbeing.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
