Campsie Public School (CPS) is a large, dynamic school located in the heart of Campsie's Central Business District, adjacent to local shops and community facilities. Our school proudly serves approximately 520 students, with 97% coming from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The most common language groups include Chinese (37%), Nepali (10%), Vietnamese (8%), Indonesian (7%), and Korean (6%).

Academic and Student Support

At CPS, we prioritise literacy and numeracy through effective curriculum differentiation, ensuring that each student receives targeted support. Students with additional learning needs benefit from individualised learning plans, developed in partnership with families and specialist providers. We employ a speech therapist to deliver targeted intervention and professional development for staff.

Students with a Disability: 20% of students have regularly reviewed Individual Learning Plans.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Students: Four students have Personalised Learning Pathways, including aspirational goals set by the student.

High Potential & Gifted Education: CPS offers enrichment classes for high-performing students to extend their learning.

Curriculum and Extracurricular Opportunities

The school offers a broad curriculum that includes languages, the arts, and physical education. Students have access to a wide range of sporting activities such as PSSA sports, swimming, ice-skating, and specialist PDHPE lessons.

CPS boasts a vibrant creative and performing arts program, including dance groups, choir, drumming, art club, and a school band. Students regularly participate in prestigious events such as:

Opportunities for skill development extend to debating, public speaking, film making, coding, and gardening. Student leadership is encouraged through the Student Representative Council (SRC), Green Team (environmental group), Koori Club, and student-led clubs.


 

Specific Selection Criteria
1.Approval to teach K–6 with demonstrated proficiency in the Korean language, and a formal qualification or recognised credential in Korean language teaching, combined with the ability to design and deliver differentiated, high-quality language programs aligned to the NSW Modern Languages K–10 Syllabus, using assessment and data to inform teaching, monitor progress, and improve student outcomes, including the capacity to embed literacy and numeracy skills across the program.
2. Highly developed classroom management skills with the ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and culturally safe learning environment that celebrates Korean language and culture, and supports the wellbeing and engagement of all students.
3. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the proven capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents/carers, and to contribute to a positive staff culture and inclusive school community.
