Position Information
Marton Public School is a K-6 primary school located in Engadine, in the Sutherland Shire, south of Sydney NSW. It is a medium-sized public primary school, within the Woronora River network, with a population of approximately 320 students and 33 staff. 6% of the school population is from an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) background and 3% identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Marton Public School enjoys a strong reputation for high-quality academic, sporting, and cultural programs. Our beautiful grounds include a nature trail, friendship garden, new play equipment and a large capacity before and after school care.
Whole school priorities outlined in the 2024-2027 School Excellence Plan are the result of a rigorous self-assessment process and consultation with our local community. The strategic directions include: Student growth and attainment in literacy and numeracy, effective classroom practice and student and staff wellbeing.
Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach K-6. Demonstrated capacity to enhance student growth and achievement in literacy and numeracy through the implementation of evidence informed teaching practices, strong classroom management, and the development of inclusive and engaging learning environments that support the success of all students.

 

2. Demonstrated ability and experience in supporting and engaging students through a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including sporting programs, student wellbeing initiatives and whole school activities. Proven capacity to foster positive student relationships, encourage participation and teamwork, and promote student confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

 

3. Proven capacity to build strong, respectful relationships with all stakeholders, fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel known, valued, cared for and connected, while encouraging shared responsibility for the success and wellbeing of the entire school community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
