Job Description

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Preston is seeking a dedicated and flexible PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. This role will involve covering classes across both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), delivering high-quality teaching and ensuring continuity of learning during teachers' PPA time.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching across a range of year groups and subjects, maintaining high standards of classroom practice and creating engaging learning experiences for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2 during teachers' PPA time.
  • Provide engaging and effective teaching that supports pupil progress and achievement.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners across different year groups.
  • Create and maintain a positive, inclusive and productive classroom environment.
  • Uphold school policies relating to behaviour management and safeguarding.
  • Assess pupil understanding and provide feedback where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and school leaders to ensure continuity of learning.
  • Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting across KS1 and KS2.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the flexibility to teach a variety of subjects and age groups.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
