Veritas Education are currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Barnoldswick Lancashire

This is a full-time permanent position starting in September 2026. The school is a well-regarded, inclusive primary setting with a strong community ethos and a positive learning environment.

The school was recently graded Good by Ofsted, with inspectors recognising the school's strong leadership, positive pupil behaviour, and the effective support provided for pupils' personal development and achievement. The Early Years and Key Stage 1 provision were highlighted as strengths, with a clear focus on early reading, phonics and a well-structured curriculum.

The school offers a nurturing environment where staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils feel safe, supported and challenged in their learning.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience teaching within EYFS or Key Stage 1
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Year 1 lessons
  • Have a strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Work well as part of a supportive team
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
