Position Information
Windsor High School is a comprehensive high school (709 students) located in the Hawkesbury Valley on the land of the Dharug people. Students are drawn from Maroota in the north to South Windsor. Enrolment is comprised of approximately 21% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 3% students with a language background other than English. The school has a support unit with 5 Multi-categorical classes. Over the past decade the school has focussed on establishing effective systems and structures in curriculum, student welfare, school organisation and professional learning. The school has a positive learning environment and a culture that focuses on student and teacher learning with the aim of improving outcomes for students leaving school. The school is supported by an engaged P&C. There is a strong partnership with the local AECG and the local Aboriginal community.
General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Lead evidence-informed teaching and learning practices that improve student engagement and growth for students with diverse learning needs.
2. Foster a collaborative faculty culture through mentoring and targeted professional learning to promote high expectations and positive learning environments.
3. Lead the design and implementation of curriculum and assessment; utilising data, strategic planning and effective resource management to drive improvement.
4. Proven expertise in proactive school leadership, collaborating with executive to develop and support whole school policies and initiatives.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
