About the Role
The Head of Department - Curriculum (HOD-C) will support student achievement through the implementation of impactful pedagogical practices across our learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide curriculum leadership to ensure alignment with departmental priorities and the Australian Curriculum.
- Support teachers in delivering evidence-based, differentiated programs that maximise student engagement and achievement.
- Lead school-wide initiatives in literacy, communication, and wellbeing.
- Build strong partnerships with staff, families, and community stakeholders to enhance educational outcomes.
- Manage resources effectively and contribute to strategic planning and school improvement.
Must-Have Skills and Experience
- Current Queensland teacher registration and eligibility for leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in curriculum leadership and improving student outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education and differentiation strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capacity to lead change and foster a collaborative team culture.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication.
- Understanding of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and wellbeing frameworks.
- Background in coaching and mentoring teachers.
