About the Role

As the Head of Department - Student Services, you will work in our newly established engagement space, working with students of culture and leading our whole of college events.

You will have the following accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes, engagement and attendance, including frameworks such as Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
  • Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social and emotional needs of students.
  • Use data to monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary, including targeted supports such as the relevant college intervention models.
  • Lead the implementation of engagement and wellbeing initiatives, including Engagement Centre processes (Realign, Reset and Pause).
  • Communicate and work with parents, staff and external agencies to develop strategies to improve student engagement, achievement and attendance.
  • Work with and provide tools for the school leadership team, Heads of Department and teachers to support consistent implementation of behaviour, wellbeing and engagement strategies.
