About Us:
Spinifex State College is a three campus educational facility. Our Junior Campus caters to years 7-9, Senior Campus years 10-12 and the Residential Campus houses all boarding students. Our school aims to develop clever, skilled and creative learners. To achieve this aim, we provide students with access to quality curriculum programs and learning opportunities. We also inspire our students to explore their passions, harness their unique talents and fulfil their potential.
Each year our students who aspire to tertiary education achieve excellent results due to the support and readiness programs run by the school. Students who aspire to transition into work or Vocational Education and Training (VET) benefit by our close links with TAFE and industry. Our strong links with Mount Isa Mines and other businesses have led to many authentic learning opportunities to prepare students for their chosen post-school pathways. This includes school-based apprenticeships/traineeships and work experience. Spinifex students are encouraged to work hard and achieve their best - our school is proud of our students and their achievements.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Provide strategic leadership by developing and implementing a shared educational vision that promotes high-quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Foster an inclusive, high-expectation culture by embedding socially just practices and maintaining high standards for student achievement and staff performance.
- Lead continuous improvement through strategic planning, future-focused decision-making, and a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
- Build strong partnerships with students, parents, community organisations, and government agencies to support positive educational outcomes.
- Manage resources and governance effectively by overseeing human, financial, facilities, and curriculum resources while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and departmental policies.
