Warwick State High School is a wonderful school.  We cater for an increasingly diverse and inclusive learning community of over 800 students and approximately 66 teaching staff.

Founded in 1912, the school is one of the oldest state secondary educational institutions in Queensland.

Your Opportunity:

As the Head of Department - English/Humanities/Language your responsibilities will concentrate on the following:

  • Educational Achievement - curriculum oversight of Years 7 to 12, maintaining A-C and improving A-B Level of Achievement.
  • Culture and Inclusion - ensuring that inclusive practices occur in all classrooms, including differentiation and support of SWD's.
  • Strategic and Data - Informed Leadership - Level of Achievement, OneSchool behaviour profiles
  • Leadership of Relational Pedagogy and Positive School Culture
  • Leadership of 25 staff through our AIP and our key priorities.

How you will be assessed

Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities

1) Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to provide curriculum leadership leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all students.
2) Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community.
