Northern Beaches State High School has grown to become the premier school of choice for parents and students in the rapidly growing Northern Beaches area of Townsville. 

Until the high school opened in 1997, students had been forced to go all the way into town to continue their secondary schooling, meaning long days travelling on buses.

In this vital role, you will provide wellbeing support and therapeutic interventions to students experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns in addition to educational, behavioural, vocational, personal, social, family and wellbeing matters.

Your work will play a key role in fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities include:

•    Conducting psychoeducational assessments to support positive educational outcomes.
•    Providing career development guidance to help students explore and achieve their future pathways.
•    Supporting the development and implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes.
•    Providing advice and expertise to deliver individualised support for students with diverse needs.
•    Leading and managing complex cases, including student protection matters, critical incidents, mental health challenges, and suicide prevention and postvention support.
