Job Title: EYFS Teaching Assistant Location: Leyland, Lancashire Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: £14.50 - £16.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Leyland is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant for an immediate start.

This full-time position involves supporting children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils' learning, development and well-being throughout the school day, both in the classroom and during outdoor learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the learning and development of children across the EYFS curriculum.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to provide a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social development.
  • Support children during classroom activities, play-based learning and daily routines.
  • Help maintain a safe, caring and well-organised learning environment.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, providing feedback to the class teacher where appropriate.
  • The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with young children, ideally within an EYFS setting.
  • A sound understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum.
  • A caring, patient and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), are desirable but not essential.
