Position Information
The Deputy Principal at Dubbo College Delroy Campus plays a vital leadership role in a dynamic educational environment that serves a diverse student population. With student enrolments totalling approximately 500 students in years 7-10, the campus is part of the broader Dubbo College, which comprises multiple campuses working collaboratively to deliver quality education across the region. The student demographics at Delroy Campus reflect a rich cultural mix, including a significant proportion of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island students and those from various socio-economic backgrounds, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
Under strong leadership, the school has achieved notable successes, including improved academic outcomes, enhanced student engagement programs, and recognition for innovative teaching practices. The Deputy Principal contributes to these achievements by driving strategic initiatives, supporting staff development, and ensuring the wellbeing and success of all students within the college’s comprehensive educational framework.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1. Demonstrated ability to proactively manage the complex and competing daily priorities of the school using effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and emotional intelligence to deliver school excellence.
2. A future focused, highly visible instructional leader with a proven capacity to strategically lead change that results in academic growth and high achievement.
3. Proven ability as an ethical and collaborative leader to work with the Principal and leadership team to create a culture of high expectations that promotes integrity, equity and opportunity for students and staff.
4. Demonstrated ability to support and foster authentic connection with all stakeholders to deliver excellence in behaviour and wellbeing within a culture of high expectations.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
