Cover Supervisor - Blackburn

Veritas Education is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Blackburn on a day-to-day and short-term supply basis from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, including graduates, aspiring teachers, teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers, and those with experience working with young people.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Ensure students remain engaged and complete set work.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding pupil participation and behaviour.
  • Work across a range of subjects and year groups within local secondary schools.

    We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar settings.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are confident managing groups of secondary-aged students.
  • Can adapt quickly to different school environments.
  • Are professional, reliable, and enthusiastic about supporting education.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references.
