Cover Supervisor - Burnley

Veritas Education is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on a day-to-day and short-term supply basis across secondary schools in Burnley from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure pupils remain on task.
  • Support students' learning and engagement throughout lessons.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Work across a variety of subjects and year groups.

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or youth setting.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Confidence leading a class of secondary-aged students.
  • A flexible and professional approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references.
