Veritas Education are seeking confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in a range of secondary schools across Batley and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set work in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

The Role

  • Supervising whole classes during teacher absences
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students to complete set work and remain focused
  • Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
  • Upholding safeguarding and school procedures at all times

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring or youth work setting
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading groups of students aged 11-16
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • Degree educated (desirable but not essential)
  • An ambition to work within education or pursue a teaching career (desirable)
