Veritas Education are working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across the Bradford area to recruit confident and reliable Cover Supervisors. We have opportunities available on both a full-time basis and for those seeking flexible ad hoc work, starting immediately and continuing from September.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers, or anyone looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a secondary school setting.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and on task with pre-planned work. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting pupils' educational progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise lessons using work set by teaching staff
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure students remain focused and productive throughout lessons
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson outcomes
  • Support the wider school community as required
  • Promote a safe and positive learning environment

    • Requirements

  • Experience working with young people is desirable
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Confidence leading groups of students aged 11-16
  • A professional and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
