Complex Needs Support Assistant

A specialist primary SEN school in Bradford is looking for a full‑time Complex Needs Support Assistant with solid experience supporting children with autism, ADHD and non‑verbal communication needs. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced and deeply rewarding, working with pupils who rely on structure, patience and consistent emotional support throughout the school day.

You'll be supporting children who may present with high levels of energy, sensory sensitivities, difficulties with emotional regulation and challenges around communication. Many pupils are non‑verbal or use alternative communication methods, so confidence using visual aids, gestures, modelling language and calm, predictable routines is essential. The school needs someone who can remain steady during dysregulation, offer clear reassurance and help pupils re‑engage with learning in a safe, supportive way.

The role involves building strong, trusting relationships, understanding triggers, supporting sensory breaks, and helping pupils navigate transitions that may feel overwhelming. Experience with autism and ADHD is highly valued, but what matters most is a nurturing approach, resilience and the ability to respond calmly and confidently in moments of crisis.

This is a full‑time agency position offering stability, ongoing support and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a specialist Bradford setting.
