Position Information

Weston Public School is located inland in the electorate of Cessnock. It serves a community in which many families identify as being in the low socio-economic group and provides quality education to students from Kindergarten to Year 6. There are currently 284 students enrolled at the school of which 30% identify as Aboriginal. The local AECG committee and executive take a very positive and active interest in the school's learning, welfare and cultural programs and promote these within the Aboriginal community. We have an increasing amount of EALD enrolments.

Weston Public School is a proud member of the Kurri Kurri Learning Community (KKLC).

A number of significant programs, including explicit teaching and the Wellbeing of Weston (WoW), are being implemented to ensure students are provided consistently targeted teaching in Literacy and Numeracy to improve learning outcomes and positive wellbeing and engagement.
