CAA Annual Conference 2017

Keynote Speaker, Jane Caro - We are excited to have booked Jane Caro as our kenote speaker. Jane has a low boredom threshold and so wears many hats; including author, novelist, lecturer, mentor, social commentator, columnist, workshop facilitator, speaker, broadcaster and award winning advertising writer.

OPTIONAL PRE-CONFERENCE ACTIVITIES

Registrations for optional pre-conference activities are essential so we can ensure we have adequate catering and buses for all delegates. During the registration process, you will need to select each activity you wish to attend on Wednesday and Thursday 25 & 26 October 2017. We have made some changes to the pre-conference activities. The draft program, subject to change, is as follows:

Wednesday 25 October 2017, 5.00pm to 7.00pm : Presentation & Canapes hosted by The Hotel School Sydney at the InterContinental, 117 Macquarie Street Sydney. Delegates must make their own way to and from this location. Places are limited.

Thursday 26 October 2017, 8.00am to 7.30pm *All times are subject to change

College Tours: You must make your own way to the first venue, Western Sydney University Parramatta South Campus on Victoria Road, Parramatta for an 8.30am start. If you are travelling by train, go to Rydalmere Train Station and there will be private buses to transport you to Western Sydney University between 8.00am and 8.30am. The University shuttle operates as well if you intend to arrive later. You will need to pay for your own transport costs such as train fares and parking. Please note that an Opal Card may be required if you are travelling by train. You will be transported by buses from this first venue to the other venues. Buses will finish at the networking/canapés session at 255 Elizabeth Street Sydney which commences at 5.30pm visiting ACAP, SIBT, Western Sydney University, and LaTrobe University. The draft program for the day is as follows (times may change):

  • 8.30am to 10.30am Western Sydney University Parramatta South Campus;
  • 11.00am to 1.00pm TAFENSW Lidcombe Campus;
  • 1.15pm to 3.00pm Sydney University Cumberland Campus;
  • 3.30pm to 4.30pm Painters Group Training Company at Strathfield South;
  • 5.30pm to 7.30pm Australian College of Applied Psychology, SIBT, Western Sydney University and La Trobe University, all situated at new purpose built premises at 255 Elizabeth Street Sydney.

If you leave prior to the final drop off at 5.30pm in the Sydney CBD, you will need to make your own travel arrangements.

There will not be a Careers Advisers Round Table or a Federation Special Interest Group meeting this year.
