Walcha Central School, in partnership with the community provides quality student-centred learning in a safe and supportive environment. Walcha Central School is a comprehensive K-12 school. The student enrolment is 270 of whom 55% are K-6 and 45% are 7-12, 25% of the student population identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. Our ethos is a one school focus.
Learning and teaching is underpinned by collaborative inquiry and evidence based practice to provide challenging and stimulating learning experiences. Diverse and extra-curricula opportunities enable all students to explore and build on their gifts and talents. All learning occurs in an exceptionally well-resourced and supportive environment where teachers work in teams to encourage diversity and support differentiation, student reflection and interests.
